Prize Fund £3000
Prize Fund is based on 32 teams, 12 Ladies Doubles
and 20 Mixed Doubles of which sixteen Teams and six Ladies Doubles and eight
Mixed Doubles will be eligible to represent Great Britain in the European
Finals in Helsinki, Finland on 12 – 15th May 2010.

1.
RULES. The general playing rules and tournament
rules of the National Associations will form the basis of the rules for this
Tournament. This Tournament is not
sanctioned by any National Association and therefore in all cases the decision
of the Tournament Manager will apply.
2.
DRESS. All teams participating in the tournament
must wear a bowling shirt with either their company name or logo on display.
Failure to comply with this rule may result in disqualification from the Tournament.
3.
DATE & VENUE. The Ladies
& Mixed Doubles event will be played on Saturday 28th November 2009. The Four person events will be played on 29th
November 2009. Additional squads will be made available for teams to bowl in
the case of over subscribing of teams or unavailability of teams to bowl on the
given date. These will be at the
discretion of the Tournament Manager and will be final. All events will take place at AMF Ilkeston,
Derbyshire.
4. TEAM & PLAYING FORMAT. Each team will bowl 6 games changing lanes
after 3 games.
5. TEAM
COMPOSITION/ELIGIBILITY. A
Four person team can be made of all or mixed genders. The other teams are as
advertised. n.b. Bowlers participating in the Mixed Doubles
event may not bowl in either of the other 2 competitions. Only bowlers employed by the same company
(i.e. Banks, Factories, Government Departments based in the UK) are eligible to
participate.
a.
Each member of the team must be employed on a
continuous basis by the Company as either a full or part time (minimum 16 hours
per week) employer for at least 3 months prior to the closing date. They must be on the Company payroll for
National Health Contributions and PAYE, and the Company, which the person
represents, must be their principal employer. Spouses
are also eligible to bowl but must bowl in the same team as their spouse.
b.
A person may also be a pensioner of that
Company, in receipt of pension payments, even if they are currently employed by
an alternative Company.
Spouses of pensioners may also enter the event, but must bowl in the
same team as their spouse.
c.
A Company may enter as many teams as they
wish into each event.
d.
No person may enter the event except
those originally entered or such replacements authorised by the team captain
and the Tournament Manager prior to the date of competition. Team replacements made on the day of bowling
must enter scratch and no handicap will be allowed. All replacements must adhere to the above
eligibility and checks will be made with the respective Human Resource Departments.
e.
Once play has commenced, if a player has
to retire through injury or illness, then a score equal to their average less
15% divided by 10 and rounded down will be allocated for each remaining frame.
6. HANDICAPPING
SYSTEM. Bowlers shall declare
their highest League average over a minimum of 21 games (taken at time of the
entry form completion). Bowlers with no
average over 21 games will be allowed to submit their last completed League
average providing that it is not more than 5 pins below any current average
over any number of games. Bowlers with
no average shall be assessed after their first 3 games bowled in the
Tournament. Handicaps will be based on 80%
of the difference between their entering average and 220. The Tournament Manager may reassess the upper
limit should entering averages exceed 220.
There will be a maximum handicap of 65 pins for a male and 75 pins for
ladies.
7. DISPUTES.
A provisional ball shall be bowled in the case of a dispute which cannot
be settled on the spot. Any protest must
be made verbally to the Tournament Manager at the time and confirmed in writing
within 72 hours. The Tournament Manager
has the right to re-rate or reject any entering average supplied or attained
(in the case of no average held) after consultation with the BCB
Committee. The Tournament Managers
decision will be final.
8. ENTRY

The total entry fee must accompany a fully completed entry
form, or in the case of a Website entry, by return of post, and will be
non-returnable after a squad time is issued.
Entry forms are to be forwarded to BCB Tournament Manager,
Sean Keates at FS ST Keates, J5 CMD, SHAPE, BFPO 26, or 210G Rue Des Bruyeres,
7034 Obourg, Belgium (The BFPO address is at the same postage rate as the UK)
together with the relevant entry fee.

11. PRIZES The order in which teams qualify for the next stage (European Finals) and final prize positions will be as follows:
a. The team with the highest pinfall
inclusive of handicap will take the highest handicap position and shall be
declared the handicap winners. This team
will take no further part in the allocation of positions or of the prize
fund. From the remaining teams, the next
award will be given to the highest scratch team excluding handicap who will be
declared the overall scratch winners.
This team as before will take no further part in the allocation of places
or prize fund. The allocation of all
subsequent places and prizes will follow the same format.
b. In
the event of any tied scores, which effect the allocation of positions, then a
9th and 10th frame roll-off will decide these positions.
12. QUALIFICATION
TO THE EUROPEAN FINAL. The European
Finals to be held in Helsinki, Finland on 12 – 15th May 2010 will be
a scratch event for all elements of competition.
13. TOURNAMENT
MANAGER The Tournament Manager will be Sean Keates ably assisted by the
BCB & Co-Opted Committee Members.
